Apology

Just wanted to apologize to everyone out there for the length of time between podcast.

It is really my fault as I have been unable to find the time to have Great Scott! over to do a new show.

I would like to blame my wife but she may be reading this!

We will get a new show out this month I promise â it is on one of my favorite series Darwin Cookeâs The New Frontier.

Chapter 4: State of the Industry, 2004. In this chapter Great Scott! and VH1 discuss the state of the comic industry and what the big two have been doing to bring in new readers and what they have been doing to drive readers away. Of course when it is Great Scott! and VH1 discussing this it can mean only one thing Ãïï Marvel vs. DC smackdown. Try to remember this was recorded in January of 2005 so we are really talking about comics in 2004. Holy Time Warp Batman!

Chapter 1: Failed Intros; the Riddle of the Sphinx Question: Flight or Invisibility?

First off, we will hit you up with some of our attempted introductions for the Four Color Podcast. I really just tried to throw a bunch of stuff at the wall and waited to see what would stick. Great Scott! offered his input and pointed out a couple of copyright infringements before we distilled it down to what we have now. After that you will hear the first recordings that Great Scott! and I did in January of 2005 where we discuss which power we would take: flight or invisibility? This was with our moderator from The Bored-Again Christian and Illinoise!, Just Pete. Really, after listening to this you will come to realize why the format of our show is the way it is now. Here's a hint: I have to keep Great Scott! on topic. Enjoy and comment away.

Hey People,

Great Scott! and VH1 are back for another action packed episode of the Four Color Podcast. This show already breaks the format rules that VH1 and Great Scott! set for themselves. It took some doing, but VH1 finally got Great Scott! to do an episode on the origins of Superman. Thrill to VH1 describing how Superman's creation was tied into FDR's New Deal programs and gasp as you hear Great Scott! shares his true feelings about the Man of Steel.

Stay tuned as VH1 secretly switches Great Scott!'s regular coffee with decaf and hilarity ensues. More fun than two grown men should be allowed to have in a basement.

Hey Gang,

We have a special treat for you, for your listening pleasure you can hear the first rumblings of what has become the Four Color Podcast. Listen as VH1 and Great Scott! answer hard-hitting questions about comic books.

These bits were originally recorded in January of 2005 for another podcast in the subsequent two years that followed, our good buddy Just Pete of The Bored Again Christian and Illinoise! kept bugging us to do our own podcast and we finally caved in.

Now the session as a whole is pretty long so I have broken it down into several chapters, which I will post every couple of weeks starting on April 19th.

First up, some bad intros that failed to make the cut and then VH1 and Great Scott! take on the eternal question, flight or invisiblity?

Also listen as VH1 uses the word hardcore way to often and out of context!
